Preserving Memories Project

In April, Fujitsu teamed up with non-profit group Cyber Seniors for special projects at senior centers in Los Angeles, CA and Cadillac, MI. Cyber Seniors is an organization that uses technology training to bridge the generation gap. Local youth pair with seniors at the centers to teach technology skills, improve comfort levels, and help them connect with friends and family on social media, Skype and other platforms.

In Los Angeles, high school students with the Bresee Youth Center taught adults at St. Barnabas Senior Center how to use ScanSnap scanners to preserve memories. Seniors were instructed to bring documents, photos, records, even 3D objects, and with their high school buddy created ‘digital scrapbooks’.

In Michigan, students from Cadillac High School visited fellow Cadillac residents at the Cadillac Senior Center for a similar project. Local new station WPBN UpNorthLive provided great coverage with a heartwarming segment video.

We were thrilled to support these two communities as they spent the day meeting new people, learning about technology and preserving memories to share with friends and family.
