If we were to sit down and think about it, there are many ways to employ the technological capabilities wrapped up in the ScanSnap iX500. From the very basic and fundamental to other more creative uses, it’s a piece of hardware and accompanying software that presents great potential to our users, if we do say so ourselves. With that said, we thought it would be interesting to ask some of our Squad members what they were most likely to scan with high frequency. Here is what we learned:
What kind of documents do you scan most often? What’s your favorite use for your scanner?
“As I am mostly paperless with my bills, I most often scan expense receipts and income checks for my business to keep track of them for tax purposes. I scan everything to Dropbox folders so I can access them from anywhere and shred whatever paper I can (not the checks though!).” – Penny Catterall, Office Organization
“Invoices and employee paperwork.” – Patrick Albrecht, Small Business [Note: You can read (and see!) more about how Patrick incorporates scanning and other technology into his business workflow.]
“As a paperless real estate agent, I most often scan double-sided client files and documents. It has eliminated multiple filing cabinets for me.” – Linda Davis, Real Estate
“I scan customers’ contracts/agreements; however, my clients most often want to scan bills and photos.” – Bonnie Dewkett, Personal Organization
“Powerpoint presentations and engagement agreements.” – Ed Poll, Legal
“At home I primarily find myself scanning items that manifest from my kids. Whether it is school work we want to save, original artwork that cannot be parted with or informational flyers that come home from school, I find I have to keep on top of the “kid paper” or I would not have a clean surface in the house.” – Jordyn Russell, Marketing Communications Manager, Fujitsu
While the responses we received may focus on fairly typical uses of the iX500, the addition of the ScanSnap SV600 to our family of ScanSnap scanners has brought with it much great diversity. We’re always on the lookout for new and unique stories about how users are applying the SV600’s capabilities to their work and/or lives, and what kind of affect it has. We’ve heard a few great ones and are hopeful we’ll hear more as more and more people acquire the SV600 and start running it through its paces, as well as stretching its capabilities.
