On the 12th day of scanning what did I discover … a counter full of art projects that came home for the holidays!
Yesterday was the last day of school for my kids before the holiday break. They came home excited for Christmas, amped up on sugar from the class holiday party, and completely laden with art projects. I think the teachers want to come back to clean classrooms in the New Year (and who can blame them?) so all the art projects were sent home. These projects come in all shapes and sizes. Some were holiday-specific and some were not. Most of them are paper-based but many were also three-dimensional. This is one of those times where I am so happy that I have an SV600.
Each of these projects took time and energy to make, and my kids are not at a point where they are ready to part with them. The projects also are not easy to store – they can fall apart, take up a lot of space and in all honesty they probably won’t be looked at all that often. The SV600 allows me to scan all of these projects quickly and easily. The resulting image from the scanner is much better than trying to take a picture because I don’t have to deal with shadows or capturing the background or deal with the lighting.
Once the projects are digital I can share them or even make a book of their art (okay, in all honesty, I am not THAT organized but some parents are!). The best part is that I have captured the moment and it is only taking up a small bit of space on my hard drive instead of lingering around my house collecting dust.
